Book Review: Fushigina Kiroku Volume 7

This volume is designed to be used as a reference for life and a resource for the study of truth. The author tells of his difficult wartime experiences and uses these stories as a teaching tool. The book highlights that war has negative impacts on all people.

His experiences include sickness, injuries, family loss, power harassment in the military, and fellow soldier loss, which he experienced during his few years of wartime. Life in war is one of the hardest lives. Teaching using war experience is helpful to those who live difficult lives. Some of the teachings include: a soul has no nationality, life is a form of training, and God is always watching us.

Soul Has No Nationality

The author’s teachings on human rebirth highlights the significance of avoiding wars.

According to the author, humans are made up of a soul, a spirit body, and a physical body. The physical body has a nationality, which indicates its birthplace. However, there is no soul associated with one specific ethical or religious group. A person can be reborn in a different nation and within a family of a different religion.

Wars and discrimination occur as a result of national, ethnic, or religious conflicts. People who discriminate against a specific group or people may be reincarnated in the discriminated group. The reincarnation indicates that war and discrimination are harmful to any group of people.

Life is For Training

The author also teaches that “the earth is a training place. Life is for training.” He says that, just as hard and painful karate training develops the body, difficult circumstances develop the mind. So, I believe, when facing a challenging situation in life, it is time to live carefully and develop our minds. The author reflects on his life, saying that God guided him through the difficult times and it had a positive impact on him in his future.

Gods are Always Watching Me

“God is always watching me” is introduced as a key phrase for facing painful life events. It is a phrase that the author had kept in mind through difficult occasions. I believe the phrase expresses the awareness that God exists and that life is for training. It is also a phrase of encouragement to an individual, so that even if life does not go as planned, the person can confront the challenges.
